Writer's Challenge
Set a character you are very familiar with but would like to know more about
  1) in a scene with ONE of the following characters: Kenny Locke, a 17 year old; Lizzy Vanderwerff a 70 year old grandmother; Dalejin, a 17 year old orphan; Charles Stewart, a 200 year old founder of a large branch of a family; Kendrick, a Brit living in somalia; Aunt Beulah Jackson, a 70 year old grandmother who quilts; Gradus VerPloug, a 60 year old livestock farmer; alex Cabol; a 17 year old theif; Everett Benson, an old man at a garage sale; Samuel Damper, a 9 year old kind boy.
   2) Use one of these objects in the scene: A salt shaker, cherry pie, a sword, a hand-crank Victrola, a manhole cover, a horse blanket, an amulet necklace, a stack of old magazines, a pair of broken glasses.
   Use pairings that would NOT be found in your normal work.

Writer's Challenge
Write two beach scenes: 1) from the POV of a murderer, and 2) from the POV of a woman who's just found out she's pregnant and who wants this pregnancy.  DO NOT mention either of these, either the murder of the fact of the pregnancy but rather, portray this through setting.
