Thursday, September 23, 2009: Camp Write was a GREAT
SUCCESS! Thanks to everyone who participated and made this year's autumn
festival the wonderful time it turned out to be! The weather actually
cooperated! We met Thursdat night around the camp fire for our reguilar
session. A light rain came just as we read the last piece. Several of us camped
out. Friday night brough more great writing out of the woodwork and we came up
with a story about Harriet, Samantha and Walter through three rounds of "tennis
writing." Saturday, we read our ghost stories with great contributions from
Cassy and Cassy's friend, Richard (thanks!), Mary, Larry, Mike, Carol, Teresa.
We had plenty to eat between chicken and brauts and hot dogs, chili, wonderful
salads, chips and all the fixin's. All in all, an excellent time was had by all
and already we're looking forward to next year!
Thursday, September 15, 2009: Nice evocative session! Ruth and
Charlotte and Carol and I discussed ghost stories and poetry and this led to
some more metaphysical discussions and appraisals of the more unanswerable
questions of existence, life, death, and the meaning of it all. We are all
committed to writing ghost stories for Camp Write!
